Academic delivery

Timetables that catch clashes before your trainers do

Build courses from training.gov.au, schedule classes across rooms and campuses, mark attendance and record unit outcomes, and every result flows straight into reporting.

The problem

Delivery data lives in too many places

  • Unit lists are copied by hand from training.gov.au and drift out of date.
  • Timetable clashes surface on the day, when a trainer is booked at two campuses.
  • Attendance and results sit apart from the student record, so reporting means reconciling spreadsheets.

With Academywise

Scope, schedule, deliver, record

Courses and units come from training.gov.au with their classifications. Classes, rooms, trainers and calendar terms drive the timetable, and attendance and results are captured against the same sessions and units used for AVETMISS.

Capabilities

What academic delivery includes

Items labelled Needs your account or In development are explained on the feature status page.

  • training.gov.au import

Import qualifications and units with ANZSCO, ASCED and level classification. Core units are active, and electives join scope only when you add them.

  • Intakes with calculated dates

Course finish dates are calculated from start date and duration in weeks, and can be adjusted when needed.

  • Clash detection

The timetable flags room double-bookings, trainer double-bookings, and a trainer at two campuses with less than 60 minutes between sessions.

  • Attendance rolls

Mark present, absent, late, excused or not required per session, and print branded rolls when you need paper.

  • Unit results & progress

Track every unit from not started to competent, not yet competent, credit transfer, RPL or withdrawn, with outcome dates and manual date overrides.

  • RPL & credit transfer

Record applications with evidence and assessor decisions. Approval writes the RPL (51) or credit transfer (60) outcome to the unit.

  • Needs your account

    Moodle progress sync

Pull activity completion and grades from Moodle into unit progress, per student, per class or on a schedule.

  • Deferrals

Record deferrals and extend the course end date automatically or manually. The student shows as inactive during the deferral.

Workflow

How it works in practice

  1. 01

    Scope

Import the qualification and choose electives.

  2. 02

    Schedule

Create classes, assign trainers and rooms, set calendar terms.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Trainers mark attendance against each session.

  4. 04

    Record

Unit outcomes and dates feed course progress and NAT00120.

Benefits

Why it matters

  • 01

    Trainers see only what's theirs

Trainer and assessor accounts are limited to their own classes and students at the database level.

  • 02

    Reporting-ready by default

Effective unit dates come from the timetable unless you override them, the same dates AVETMISS needs.

  • 03

    Fewer timetable surprises

Clashes are flagged when you build the timetable, not on the day.

FAQ

Academic delivery: common questions

Still have a question? Ask us directly.

Do we still need an LMS?

Academywise manages delivery and results, and connects to Moodle for online learning. With Moodle connected, accounts are created at enrolment and activity progress can be synced back.

Can trainers mark attendance themselves?

Yes. Trainers and assessors have their own access limited to their classes, including attendance and progress.

How are inter-campus travel clashes calculated?

If the same trainer has sessions at two different campuses on the same day with less than 60 minutes between them, the timetable flags a travel clash.
